It’s hot.

It’s hot. Well of course it’s hot. It’s summer time in the desert. So me and Kate like to go swimming in the lake. Don’t worry we’re still on the leash. That’s the rule.

When we go to the lake it’s up in the mountains. We have to drive and drive and drive. Sometimes on the way up we stop for lunch and me and Kate get french fries. I love french fries. Brian, my two-legged companion orders them without salt for us.

After we come home from the lake we have to a bath with a special soap that kills bugs. That’s one way how to get rid of fleas. Fleas are mean. And once you get them you get a bazillion of them. And they get in the carpet and on the bed and everywhere. Fleas be bad.

They make you itch and then you scratch the itch. If you scratch enough it makes it bleed and then you get an infection. So now you have fleas and owies. Not a good thing.

If you don’t want your bestest friend to get fleas you have to be careful. There’s stuff you can put on them once a month or flea collars and shampoo. It’s pretty tough to keep your dog away from fleas because they can be everywhere. In the grass, on other dogs even on cats. I’m not exactly sure what a cat is. I saw one at the adoption center at PetSmart. They’re okay I guess. I like the snacks with fur better. Yanno the rabbits and mice and rats and … don’t look at me like that. I’m a dog. Dogs are carnivores we eat stuff like that.
